Winners to Be Celebrated During Event in London on 15 October
San Francisco, CA – [August 15, 2022] – Emodo, an Ericsson company providing high-impact audience, inventory and creative advertising solutions, was named the winner of a Gold Stevie® Award in the Best Use of Augmented Reality category in The 19th Annual International Business Awards® today.
The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program. All individuals and organizations worldwide – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small – are eligible to submit nominations. The 2022 IBAs received entries from organizations in 67 nations and territories.
Winners will be celebrated during a gala banquet at the InterContinental London Park Lane Hotel, in London, England, on Saturday, 15 October – the first live IBA awards ceremony since 2019.
More than 3,700 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Company of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Startup of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year, and Executive of the Year, among others. This year’s competition also featured a number of new categories to recognize organizations’ and individuals’ achievements in social media and thought leadership.
Emodo’s “Reopening Broadway with Augmented Reality” won Gold in the Best Use of Augmented Reality category. To welcome audiences back to Broadway post-pandemic, The Broadway League and Omnicom’s Resolution Media partnered with Emodo to create a mobile first, AR experience leveraging the “This is Broadway” ad campaign. Using animation and AR, Emodo developed the “Broadway Show Globe” to drive sales during December’s peak season. The experience transported users to a snowy 360-degree Times Square on mobile screens to hear holiday greetings from Broadway’s celebrities e.g., Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and Aaron Tveit. Users were able to share socially, visit the campaign site, and buy tickets. Overall, the campaign generated:
- 90% engagement
- 3 minutes 12 seconds avg. time spent totaling +750 hours. 7X avg. time spent with traditional digital creative.
- 22% shared on social; 4% initiated a purchase. Nine of the top 10 performing shows saw an increase in sales.
- With 10% of budget, Emodo accounted for ~30% of engagement.
“A huge congratulations to those who ideated and executed this campaign, and to all others nominated for this esteemed category” said Alistair Goodman, CEO of Emodo. “We are passionate about bringing rich, immersive creative experiences to advertisers and consumers and to be awarded gold for this augmented reality campaign is an enormous compliment and privilege.”
Stevie® Award judges applauded the nomination’s “brilliant pairing of new audience and new technology”, saying “it is what digital marketing is all about”, and deemed it an “excellent application of latest technology with a highly contextual campaign targeting key stakeholders with a clear goal and desired outcomes”.
Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 300 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process in June and July.
“We’re thrilled that we’re able to return to celebrating Stevie winners in person this year,” said Stevie Awards president Maggie Miller. “This year’s class of honorees are as innovative, adventuresome, persistent, and successful as we’ve ever had. We look forward to celebrating their achievements with them during our 15 October awards banquet in London.”
