We are thrilled to continue our Employee Spotlight blog series, where we shine a well-deserved light on the talented individuals who contribute to the success of Emodo. Today, we are excited to introduce you to Jo McCawley, Senior Director of Product at Emodo.

Jo’s journey with Emodo started a year ago. As Senior Director of Product, Jo is responsible for the development, roadmap, and strategy for our demand solutions, platforms, and P&L.

Get to know Jo:

Q: What do you like best about working for Emodo?

A: “Emodo has exceptional leaders who embrace and champion product led goals and strategy for the entire company. I also love the people; we have the smartest and kindest teams. Never in my career have I had such a strong relationship with sales, which I appreciate. I get to be actively involved in client conversations and feedback as a partner with sales.”

Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

A: “Business moves at the speed of trust so make sure you’re doing right by both your clients and colleagues.”

Q: How do you uphold these principles in your daily life?

A: “As a true voice of the customer, this is spot on. If I don’t build what our clients need or want, sometimes even before they ask for it, I’m failing us all. If I don’t elevate minority voices in tech and work for a more equitable and safe work environment, I’m not establishing trust, which slows us all down in our ability to deliver.”

Q: Can you share a memorable project or achievement during your time at Emodo that you’re particularly proud of?

A: “Demoing the new media buying platform to Emodo was a career and life highlight. I’m so proud of how we’ve all worked together to deliver a highly intuitive and beautiful platform in such a short period of time. It’s setting Emodo’s future up for incredible success with a unique and differentiated platform in a very cluttered marketplace.”

Q: How do you foster a positive and collaborative work environment for your team?

A: “I make a point to listen well, celebrate the success of everyone, and shine the spotlight on all contributors. There is no job beneath me and I love solving problems as a team. Also, I encourage fun and creativity. You haven’t lived until you join our team retro because the tunes are BUMPIN and we have a team playlist.”

Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?

A: “I spend a lot of time driving my daughter to fencing practice, taking them to fencing competitions, and washing fencing gear. I feel pretty lucky to spend my time carting around a smelly fencing superstar so I hope they pay it back when I’m old and need to be carted around to bingo.”

We are proud to have Jo as a key member of the Emodo family. Stay tuned for more Employee Spotlights as we continue to showcase the incredible talent that drives Emodo’s success.
